Saturday November 6th @ 10:AM at Park Place and Franklin Avenue Join your neighbors as we plant daffodil bulbs on Franklin Avenue and the front of the Garden. In the spring, watch the flowers that we planted bloom! From 10:00 a.m. to noon, volunteers will loosen soil in tree pits and plant boxes & plant daffodil bulbs Wear clothing and shoes that you don't mind getting some dirt on. if you can, bring: a hand cultivator, a trowel, a bulb borer, anything else that's useful for digging and planting, extra gardening tools, if you have them, for your neighbors to use. Please RSVP so that I know how many people are committed. 
Our Kids Halloween Parade will be Saturday Oct 30The 25th anniversary of the mural project takes place in the fall. We are looking for individual artists and children groups to propose artwork for a panel painting, which will be done the weekend of September 18th to the 19th. We are excited to bring more art to the Crow Hill community! Your ideas are welcomed. Submit your proposal to the panel by filling out the commitment form or visit the CHCA website for more info.
| Come out and enjoy a beautiful fun-filled day at the 3rd Annual Kids Day Event! This Saturday, July 24th from 12-5PM, Franklin Avenue between Park Place and Sterling Place will be closed and transformed into a carnival. Let your hair down and feel like a kid again-there’s no doubt that you will have fun. Come celebrate the neighborhood as well as the children within the Crow Hill community. There will be rides, prizes and entertainment at no expense to anyone who wished to attend. The event is paid for entirely through donations from local businesses as well as successful fund raising efforts; About Time Boutique made it a point to involve everyone especially the children residing within the Crown Heights community which was seen in their enthusiastic participation at weekly bake sales held on Franklin Ave. So Show Some love and support and come out to the 3rd Annual Kids Day Event. |

| UPDATE 7/20 The Impact Zone WILL remain on Franklin Avenue (see next post) By this time, you probably know a young man was shot in the leg on Franklin Avenue, Saturday afternoon at about 2:30. What you might not know is that Commissioner Kelly is planning to pull the Impact Zone from Franklin and Nostrand Avenues at the end of the month. This means we will lose the increased foot patrol that has had such a positive effect on our community since January. We got the first Impact Zone as the result of a very strong letter writing campaign. We need to do another immediately!!! Even while our neighborhood continues to improve, this is the 3rd shooting on Franklin since the middle of May. We urge you to write a letter asking Commissioner Kelly to keep the Impact Zone on Franklin Avenue. You can either print the PDF version to sign and send, or you can download the .doc to customize with any personal concerns. PLEASE do it today. |

to make smoothies for the
Franklin/Sterling Flea Market

Come taste a fresh fruit smoothie made especially for you by Council Member James
(Brooklyn, NY) – Council Member Letitia James and Carleen Haughton, owner of Bristen’s Eatery located at 751 Franklin Avenue, will be serving up fresh smoothies to the community this Saturday.
Their aim is to raise awareness of the Franklin/Sterling Flea, and of businesses on Franklin Avenue in Crow Hill, Brooklyn. Spaces are still available for vendors to become a part of the Flea. Any businesses interested in participating should feel free to apply for space at the flea market.
The Crow Hill Association also continues to be of great assistance to Franklin Avenue businesses and the Franklin/Sterling Flea with their Go Green-Go Clean committee. The association provides cleaning up help, as well as donates plants for business and homes on Franklin Avenue.
